The main operating area for Jazzy Bear Ride Service is Big Bear, CA. In winter months (November – April), we continue to offer all current transportation services so long as we have the applicable operating equipment to do so safely.
If your planned travel dates fall within November 1 and April 30, winter weather (snow, ice, etc.) is a possibility during your travel and stay. As such, ETAs to pick up your group and length of time to arrive at your destination are estimates and cannot always be predicted if winter conditions are present at the time of your ride request.
For long-distance trips especially, if winter conditions are present by the time we depart to or from Big Bear, we reserve the right to bill for additional fees related to safe travel in winter conditions. This includes but is not limited to a one-time fee and/or an increase in our hourly rate. Should this happen, the additional fee(s) assessed will be billed to you for immediate remittance prior to any travel into or out of the Big Bear area, including travel up or down mountain roads such as the 18, 330, or 38 highways.
If you are traveling in a specialty vehicle and at any time during travel your assigned vehicle cannot make it to your destination due to the conditions of the roads (i.e. not plowed, too icy, etc.), we will attempt to transfer your party and belongings to our standard vehicles which are equipped for these conditions. This may result in further delays and additional charges due to transfer time and smaller capacity trips but will be required for safety if the driver determines that the assigned vehicle cannot safely bring you to your final destination.
While all of our drivers are locals with years of experience driving in these conditions and in vehicles equipped to do so safely, by requesting a trip during winter months you are agreeing to the risk associated with driving in these conditions. We will do everything in our power to keep you and your group as safe as possible, including but not limited to driving at or below the speed limit, avoiding especially icy or snowy roads, and installing chains as needed. (The latter may not be required for the driver’s vehicle type if it is 4×4 or AWD with All-Terrain or other off-road tires.)
If any time you feel unsafe on the road, tell you driver and they will return you to your original pickup location or find a safe exit location for you. Any time spent on the road, including time spent returning to our main operating area, is subject to compensation.
Additionally, Jazzy Bear drivers and staff reserve the right to cancel any trips booked ahead or on-demand due to severe winter/road conditions. If we cannot reschedule your trip to a satisfactory date/time, you may request a partial refund.
