The Jazzy Bear Story

Jazzy Bear started with the mission of getting people home safely.

The area of Big Bear is a four-season resort destination for Southern Californians and beyond. Yet, despite the influx of people, transportation options are sparse.

The public trolley, while a great option for many, has limitations in hours of operation and scheduled stops throughout the day. If you miss the trolley, want to stay out late, or want to get somewhere on your time, you must drive, bike, or walk. And in the case of late-night bar patrons, driving vs. walking (especially in the winter months) can feel like a tough choice to make.

With little to no Uber options regularly available, our founder and co-owner, Jazmin, quickly realized a need and took initiative. Her husband and Jazzy Bear co-owner, Jarret, is head of security at one of the most popular bars in town. So, one night in late fall of 2023 Jazmin decided to see if she could help anyone get home by standing outside of his bar offering safe travel to airbnbs and hotels.

Needless to say, it was a well-received offer.

By early 2024, the business was running nights and weekends and by the end of 2024, it was official: Jazzy Bear Ride Service was a full-fledged private transportation option for tourists and locals to get where they needed to go.

Our mission is simple: provide reliable, friendly, and safe transportation for locals and tourists.

Jazmin and Jarret Delaney, owners of Jazzy Bear, are two locals who moved to Big Bear in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with their kids and small village of animals and plants in tow.

Jazmin grew up in San Diego and Big Bear was a second home for summer and winter breaks at her parents’ cabin in Moonridge. Familiar with Big Bear, she finally convinced Jarret to move to Southern California when it was time to make the move from New England.

Since moving to Big Bear, Jarret and Jazmin have gotten married, bought some chickens, and become acquainted with the people and beautiful landscape that is our valley in the mountains. In Fall of 2024, the couple decided to make the business a full-time gig and established Jazzy Bear, starting with their ride service.

Their goal in the first couple years of this new business venture is to expand their serviceability through additional vehicles, service offerings, and drivers. Join us on Facebook and Instagram to see how the progress unfolds!
